How It Works
The age calculator computes your exact age by finding the difference between your birth date and today's date. It accounts for the varying lengths of months (28-31 days) and leap years (February 29th). The calculation works by first determining the number of complete years, then the remaining months, and finally the remaining days since your last month anniversary.
For example, if you were born on January 15, 1990, and today is July 6, 2026, the calculator determines you are 36 years old, with 5 months and 21 days elapsed since your last birthday. Leap years are automatically detected — any year divisible by 4 is a leap year, except century years not divisible by 400.

Example 1: Born on March 1, 2000. As of July 6, 2026, you are 26 years, 4 months, and 5 days old. That's approximately 9,654 days or 231,696 hours alive.
Example 2: Born on December 31, 1999. As of July 6, 2026, you are 26 years, 6 months, and 5 days old. Despite being born just one day before the year 2000, you're actually older than someone born January 1, 2000 by almost a full year.
Example 3: Born on February 29, 2004 (leap year). You have a birthday every 4 years. As of July 6, 2026, you are 22 years old with 4 months and 7 days elapsed — but you've only celebrated 5 actual birthdays!
