Why Use This PDF Split Tool

Need to extract a few pages from a large PDF? Want to split a report into separate chapter files? This tool makes it fast and easy — entirely in your browser with no file uploads.

Unlike online PDF splitters that require uploading your files to their servers, this tool uses pdf-lib running locally in your browser. Your PDFs are never transmitted anywhere, making it completely safe for confidential documents, legal files, and sensitive data.

Frequently Asked Questions

The tool is limited by your browser's available memory. Most modern browsers can handle PDFs up to 100MB or more. For the best experience, files under 50MB work smoothly. Very large PDFs with hundreds of pages may take a few seconds to process.

No. The splitting process is lossless — pages are copied exactly as they appear in the original PDF. Text, images, fonts, annotations, and formatting are all preserved perfectly in each output file.

The tool can process PDFs that don't require a password to open. If your PDF is encrypted with an open password, you'll need to remove the password first before splitting. The tool does not currently support entering PDF passwords.
