Summary
Spendless Habit is a local-first application. All of your data — challenges, savings logs, check-ins, reflections, skipped purchases, wishlist items, and settings — is stored exclusively on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or share any personal information with third parties. There are no user accounts, no cloud servers, and no analytics tracking.
Data We Store
The following data is stored locally on your device in a SQLite database:
- Your name (used for personalized greetings)
- Your preferred currency
- Challenge history (duration, completion status, estimated savings, category)
- Daily check-in responses (urge level, expected temptations)
- Evening reflection responses (avoided spending, mood, notes)
- Challenge pack enrollments and progress
- Unlocked badges and achievements
- App settings (XP goals, coaching style, notification preferences)
- Skipped purchase logs (amount, category, trigger, notes)
- Regret score follow-up responses (whether you still wanted the item after 24 hours)
- Wishlist items (name, amount, category, URL, notes, 24-hour decision status)
- Leak tracking (identified spending leaks, monthly amounts, expenses)
- Savings goals and transaction history
- Subscription tracking data
- Category mastery levels and streak data
None of this data leaves your device.
Data We Do Not Collect
- No email addresses or personal identifiers (in the app itself)
- No bank account information or financial data
- No location data
- No device identifiers or advertising IDs
- No usage analytics or crash reports
- No browsing history or app usage data
Contact & Website Data
If you email us or sign up for product updates through this website, we store only the information you provide (such as your email address). We use it solely to respond and to share occasional Spendless Habit news. We never sell or share it with third parties. You can request deletion of your information at any time by contacting us at spendless@anbalabs.com.
Notifications
Spendless Habit uses local notifications (scheduled on your device) for reminders like morning check-ins, evening reflections, and 24-hour wishlist reminders. These notifications do not require internet access and do not transmit any data.
Data Export
You can export all of your data at any time from within the app. Options include:
- CSV export of all challenge events and savings data
- Full SQLite database file backup
Data Deletion
You can delete all of your data at any time from within the app using the "Reset All Data" option in Settings. This permanently removes all data from your device. Since no data is stored on our servers, no additional deletion steps are necessary.
Third-Party Services
Spendless Habit does not integrate with any third-party services that collect personal data. The app does not include:
- Analytics SDKs (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel)
- Advertising SDKs
- Crash reporting services (in MVP)
- Social media integrations
Children's Privacy
Spendless Habit is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since the app stores all data locally and requires no account, there is no mechanism for us to collect data from any user, regardless of age.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. If we ever introduce data collection practices (e.g., optional cloud sync in a future version), we will update this policy and notify users within the app.
